Armenia Economic Update. December 2017 - Strong Recovery
After a fairly weak 2016 (just 0.2% growth), the Armenian economy has rebounded strongly in 2017. GDP growth surged to 5.0% over 9m17, and we upgrade our GDP forecast for this year from 4.0% to 4.6%. The better economic performance has also helped to improve the budget and current account deficits. Although Armenia's economy appears to be well positioned to continue growing next year, the high base of this year and pickup in inflation could mean somewhat of a slowdown in the rate of growth.
