Armenia Economic Update - Weathering the Storm
Armenia has managed to weather the recent global financial market volatility, dollar strength and local political uncertainty with only minor scratches. Economic growth remained strong over 4m18, while the exchange rate was relatively stable. The country's credit spreads generally moved in line with those of other EMs, but were mostly impacted by local factors, in our view. Still, we expect economic growth to ease this year to 5% from 7.5% a year ago.
