MARKET COMMENT - US/CHINA PROMISES PROVIDE A FILLIP; BREXIT AGAIN ON THE AGENDAMarkets saw mild gains across the board yesterday, the RTS rising 0.7% to 1,365, while the MSCI EM rose 0.4% and the MSCI World (DM) gained 0.6%. Decent earnings from DMs have been a driver, while yesterday the US president also made positive remarks (but with little evidence) about how trade talks with China are moving along at a productive pace. Indicators again look positive this morning. UK parliamentary votes on the government's Brexit plan, results from X5 Retail Group and weekly API oil inventories are among the items on today's calendar.
