Debt Markets Today - August 23, 2021. Putin Proposes R10k Payments to Retirees in 2021

CIS EUROBOND MARKETThe CIS Eurobond market generally remained in its summer lull on Friday. Yields closed almost unchanged. On the week, the Tajikistan 27 lagged, having lost 1.5 pp in price against the backdrop of events in Afghanistan. Meanwhile, Belarusian Eurobond yields rose 2-5 bps during the week.GOVERNMENT DEBTOn Friday, the OFZ market was flaccid. Yields inched down 1-2 bps across the curve. For the week, OFZs outperformed most peer debt markets (the 10y OFZ yield was flat, while peers added 5-20 bps in yield). This seems attributable to a strong inflow of nonresidents into OFZs last week - the latest NSD data shows a R87 bln inflow last week, while since the beginning of August the inflow has exceeded R138 bln, with nearly all of the inflow going into 5-10y issues.STORIES> Putin proposes R10,000 payments to retirees in 2021
