CIS EUROBOND MARKETRussian sovereign Eurobond quotes made significant gains from the opening amid rising risk appetite. Volumes were above average, and long-dated issues were well-bid by US investors. However, in the evening, the re-emergence of the sanctions theme saw those earlier gains rolled back, and prices closed largely flat on the day.GOVERNMENT DEBTThe Finance Ministry yesterday placed R38.1 bln in the 5y OFZ 26223 issue (February 2024, 6.5%) at a weighted average yield of 8.11%, providing a 3-4 bp premium to the secondary market. Against this backdrop, yields climbed 3 5 bps across the curve on the secondary market.
