Debt Markets Today - March 22, 2021

CIS EUROBOND MARKETOn Friday, prices on Russian sovereign Eurobonds consolidated close to the previous day's closing levels amid buying from locals and selling from internationals. The Russia 35 and 47, however, managed to post gains, adding 0.5 pp in price apiece. GOVERNMENT DEBTOFZ yields barely budged ahead of the CBR's rate decision on Friday. After the bank announced a 25 bp hike (see our story below), the OFZ curve resumed flattening. Yields closed 15 bps higher in the belly, with practically no buying activity in this part of the curve, while yields ended 2-4 bps higher at the long end. CIS EUROBOND MARKETThe Eurobond market remained inactive yesterday.GOVERNMENT DEBTYesterday saw a correction in the OFZ market, with yields rising 20-40 bps. This was actually a fairly modest move given how volatile things have been recently (yields dropped 250-300 bps on Monday-Tuesday, after the market reopened).
