Debt Markets Today - September 15, 2020

CIS EUROBOND MARKETThe restrained movements in US Treasury yields yesterday translated into a quiet day in the Russian sovereign Eurobond market. All issues closed near previous levels. GOVERNMENT DEBTOFZ yields continued to rise yesterday, the market pressured by an Interfax report from Friday about higher planned borrowing for this year, combined with a weaker ruble and a perceived rise in geopolitical risks. Long-dated issues saw yields edge up 1-3 bps, but the moves were pared after the US open. Volumes traded were modest. An exception was the 14y OFZ 26225 (April 2030), in which turnover reached R11 bln, versus the total of R19 bln for the day.
