Debt Markets Today - September 7, 2018

CIS EUROBOND MARKETRussian sovereign Eurobonds opened 0.2-0.3 pp higher yesterday, but after activity fell ahead of yesterday's US Senate hearing on sanctions against Russia, quotes started to drop. The Russia 47 was the day's biggest faller, losing 0.4 pp to reach 93.77% (YTM 5.7%, Z-spread 271 bps). The sole riser was the Russia 43, which gained 0.3 pp.GOVERNMENT DEBTOFZ yields opened flat yesterday. Later on, foreigners began selling vigorously as the sanctions theme re-emerged. Yields closed 22-25 bps higher across the curve. Trading volumes totaled R35.5 bln, the bulk of which were concentrated at the long end.
