Sunday's parliamentary election has given President Volodymyr Zelensky's Servant of the People party a commanding enough victory that it will be able to form a majority without entering a coalition. Zelensky will wield significant control over both the legislative and executive branches. Investors are putting high hopes in Ukraine's new leaders and, given how the country's traded assets are faring, they seem less concerned about the risks. We believe that the major re-pricing of the country risk may have not yet run its course, though we note that credit spreads to benchmark assets are approaching all-time lows.
