Georgia Economic Update. February 2018 - Slower but More Balanced Growth
Georgian GDP expanded 4.8% last year, up from 2.8% growth in 2016. This growth was supported by strong investment activity, a booming tourism sector and increased exports. We expect GDP growth to ease this year due to weaker investment activity, though stronger household demand and tourism should both be supportive. The government has introduced a long list of reforms to improve the business climate, attract foreign investors, and improve macroeconomic and financial stability.
