Debt Markets Today - September 6, 2021. Nornickel Opens Talks to Reach Amicable Settlement over 2020 Spill; VEON Sells Russian Tower Portfolio
CIS EUROBOND MARKETThe Russian sovereign Eurobond market closed without significant movements on Friday, having not reacted to the growth in US Treasury yields. The issues denominated in euros continue to show modest price growth of up 0.1 pp amid high volumes. Demand was seen from local investors. GOVERNMENT DEBTLong- and medium-term OFZ yields dropped 1-4 bps on Friday after the release of a weaker than expected US jobs report for August. Meanwhile, a selloff continued in short OFZs due to growing expectations of a 50 bp key rate hike by the CBR at its meeting on Friday. Short-term yields added 3-5 bps on the day.
