Institutional Investors in Russia - Looking for Large Positions
In this note, we provide another update on institutional investor positioning in Russian equities. We demonstrate that in 1H19, Russia's overweight increased, the share of passive funds in the free float fell, and Yandex remained the biggest overweight for long-only funds. Separately, we dive into the problem of large institutional holdings in individual stocks and demonstrate that the existence of large positions creates certain risks for equities.
