MSCI Annual Market Classification Preview - China A-Shares and Argentina
MSCI will announce the results of the annual market classification review after 23:30 Moscow time tonight. As the criteria for changing market status are mostly subjective, predicting the results of the annual review is highly debatable. This year, the main focus for the EM indexes is on whether to include a taste of China A-shares and whether to promote Argentina back to the EM group. MSCI will also consider excluding Nigeria from the MSCI FM, and may comment on Saudi Arabia's prospects to join the MSCI EM in future.
