Russian Gold Producers - We Raise Our TP for Polyus and Polymetal on Gold Price Upgrade
The gold price has gained 8% since the end of May, as financial markets might have started to price in a more prolonged US-China standoff, higher risks of a potential global growth slowdown and more monetary stimulus across key regions. This sets up a nice backdrop for gold prices and gold stocks. Using a scenario-based valuation, we increase our target price for Polyus by 27% to $56.00 per GDR and reiterate our BUY recommendation. We also raise our Polymetal target price by 24% to $13.15 per share and upgrade our recommendation from HOLD to a BUY.Polymetal International is the ultimate parent entity of Polymetal Group, a precious metals mining group operating in Russia, Kazakhstan and Armenia. Co. has five reportable segments: Magadan; Ural; Khabarovsk; Kazakhstan; and Armenia. Each segment is engaged in gold, silver or copper mining and related activities, including exploration, extraction, processing and reclamation.
