CIS EUROBOND MARKETThe improved tone in global markets allowed CIS Eurobond quotes to advance yesterday, although both the gains and volumes traded were moderate. Russian sovereign papers due in 2042-47 added 0.2-0.3 pp, while the Russia 29 closed 0.2 pp higher at 100.3% (YTM 4.3%, Z-spread 201 bps). GOVERNMENT DEBTYesterday, the Finance Ministry placed R95 bln of the 5y OFZ 26227 (July 2024, 7.40%) at 8.03%, without a premium to the secondary market. The placement set a record for a single auction. Demand came to R183 bln. We think it was high from both foreigners and locals, the latter buying following the R250 bln redemption of the OFZ 26216.
