Polyus - 1Q19 IFRS: In-Line on EBITDA

Polyus reported its 1Q19 IFRS results today. EBITDA came in line with our and the consensus estimates. The company will host a conference call today at 14:00 London/16:00 Moscow time. We note that the appetite for gold and gold stocks as safe-haven assets has increased recently following the escalation of US-China trade tensions. At the spot gold price and current USD/RUB, Polyus is trading at a 2019E EV/EBITDA of just 6.1 and a 7% leveraged FCF yield. We reiterate our BUY recommendation on the stock.
