Yesterday, UK officials discussed a proposal to ban settlement of Russian sovereign Eurobond sales by Euroclear. Such a move would first and foremost hurt foreign holders of these papers, as they would have trouble selling them. Given this, we consider the chances of the proposal becoming reality low. Still, a negative market reaction to the news may follow today.
