After strong gains on Thursday, the ruble retreated 0.4% to the dollar on Friday. When compared with peers, the ruble's performance was actually rather solid - the Turkish lira and Latin American currencies posted considerably sharper declines, mainly due to local factors. The ruble is strengthening again this morning on stronger risk sentiment.
