Russia FX/Rates Snapshot - April 22, 2021

We think the ruble has the potential today to strengthen to 76.2 if the geopolitical situation remains relatively calm. The focus will be the meeting between Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, as well as Putin's speech at the virtual climate summit. In addition, the ECB is due to make a rate decision.
