Russia FX/Rates Snapshot - August 5, 2020
Oil prices and EM currencies remain on the advance today, supported by healthy Chinese and Australian services PMIs for July, published this morning. Eurozone and US services PMIs are also due today, which along with the ADP US employment report are the main events in markets. The ruble, however, has not strengthened this morning. We think this could indicate that demand for dollars remains elevated and we expect the ruble to trade sideways today, even though we see the dollar weakening globally.
