Russia FX/Rates Snapshot - July 10, 2020
Overnight, it was reported that the White House is preparing tariffs on French goods because of disagreement with a French tax on US digital companies. Meanwhile, new coronavirus cases continue to rise in the US, with death numbers starting to pick up in major states like California, Texas and Florida. Thus, we think the flight to safety should continue today and we expect the ruble to retreat to 71.4. Major macro data is scarce today - the focus will be on a US PPI reading for June.
