Russia FX/Rates Snapshot - July 13, 2021. Ruble Poised to Return to 74 Against Dollar Today
We think the ruble might push toward USD/RUB 74 if the market backdrop stays benign today. Given the significant dividend payments upcoming, flows should improve for the ruble in the upcoming days. The main risk today, however, is the US CPI for June. A print above 0.5% m-o-m (0.4% core inflation) would push the dollar higher against global currencies.
