Russia FX/Rates Snapshot - March 24, 2020
Preliminary PMIs from the eurozone and US for March are due today. This data will provide a glimpse of how the virus has affected economies. The consensus estimate is relatively decent at around 40 points, although it bears noting that the consensus for the Chinese PMI for February was also around 40, but the print came in much worse at close to 30 (indicating a more than 10% drop in economic activity). We think that the data will likely disappoint and that risk-off sentiment will return today.
