Russia FX/Rates Snapshot - October 7, 2021. Breakthrough on US Debt Ceiling Could Provide a Boost to Global Markets and Ruble
EM local debt instruments stabilized yesterday evening and even managed to pare some of their early losses. Today, risk assets in general and the ruble in particular should find support from the news flow on the talks over the US debt ceiling. We think long-dated OFZs could come down a few basis points in yield, though shorter-dated issues are unlikely to do the same given how high inflation still is in Russia.
