Today, Reuters reports that Saudi Arabia's energy minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman will hold a press conference. On Sunday, he said that Aramco would have more information to share within 48 hours. If it is confirmed that significant time will be needed to restore production, oil could advance above $70/bbl today, which in turn could push the ruble to 63. Moreover, the UN General Assembly opens in New York today, with the general debate to begin September 24. Thus, some clarity about a potential US and Saudi response with regard to Iran could be forthcoming.
