Thermal Coal - Price Regulation Proposed in China
Bloomberg has reported that China's National Development and Reform Commission has made a proposal to producers of thermal coal to cut domestic prices on coal with a calorific value of 5,500 kcal/kg to under CNY600/ tonne ($87/tonne) under the monthly contracts. This proposal was made after six major utilities companies requested that the government help them reduce raw material costs.
