Vermilion Macro Vision: Technology Sector Synopsis

Technology Sector: Overweight. It's not cheap. It's not close to support. It's not, according the media, supposed to advance higher. But Tech still is an intact leader, ranking just behind Health Care in our relative strength rankings. Accordingly, as long as they uptrends—price and relative strength—remain intact, we remain overweight.

Internally, leadership is spread across most Groups. Within semis, most trends remain intact. Though many have placed too much distance between themselves and their 200-day moving averages to recommend right now. Several names that have “adequately” pulled back include: TXN, SWKS, MXIM, ASX, QRVO, MRVL, ON, SPIL, and CY. Our Software Groups are rich in base breakouts and bullish inflections: ORCL, SYMC, RHT, CTXS, CA, WDAY, CDK, VMW, ULTI, SSNC, TYL, PFPT, CVLT, ACIW, FEYE, HUBS, IMPV, PCTY, and QLYS.
