Vermilion Macro Vision: Sector Synopsis

Technology Sector: Overweight. Technology still tops our weekly rankings. Trading at 14-year relative strength highs – the only Sector at new RS highs at the moment – it has the opposite problem of Health Care: the majority of Tech Groups are ranked in the top-third of the market. Additionally, Tech continues to lead overseas. It's a leader in Europe, Japan, and especially EM, where Taiwan's market is breaking out to 12+ month relative strength highs. Bottom line: stay overweight. Internally, semis still top our rankings. Though they've produced outsized YTD rallies, monthly charts reveal secular base patterns, indicating favorable long-term trends. Several examples include: INTC, ADI, SWKS, XLNX, IDTI, SLAB, POWI, LSCC, CEVA, AMAT, TER, ENTG, TSRA, AMKR, CCMP, BRKS, and NANO. Take advantage of pullbacks (see attached document for complete sector thoughts and recommendations).
