Russell 2000 Breaking Out to All-Time HighsWe remain near-term bullish since our 4/22/25 Compass, and our intermediate-term outlook remains bullish as well (as of our 5/14/25 Compass). The S&P 500 (SPX) is trading within a well-defined 4-month uptrend that began in late-May. We will maintain our bullish outlook as long as market dynamics remain healthy and the SPX is above 6028-6059. We would need to see a break below 6450-6480 in order to have confidence that a consolidation period has finally begun. Short-term supports on SPX include 6480-6520, 6450, 6400-6410, 6340-6360, 6200, 6100-6150, and 6028-6059; buy pullbacks.
Downgrading Utilities to Market Weight. We are downgrading Utilities (XLU) to market weight; reduce exposure. RS is violating the 1.5-year uptrend on the XLU, and it will not take much more RS deterioration for us to downgrade further to underweight; new RS lows is very bullish for the broad equity market... see page 6.
