Vermilion ETF Pathfinder: Actionable ETF research & Ideas

Upgrading Energy & Downgrading Industrials

The action we are seeing in broad indexes, Sectors, and in market dynamics continues to support our overall bullish outlook. Continue to buy dips.

· Market Dynamics Remain Bullish. Small-caps (IWM) are hitting new price highs and are outperforming relative to large-caps (SPY). The US dollar (DXY) is below 92. Defensive Sectors (Staples, Utilities, Real Estate) are underperforming. The 10-year Treasury yield is above 0.97%-1.00% support. EM equities (EEM) are above $52 and outperforming. Broad commodities (DJP) and crude oil (DBO) are in uptrends. These are bullish risk-on signals for the broad equity market, and only when they reverse would we get more cautious... see chart below and page 2.

· S&P 500. Key support levels we are watching on the S&P 500 include short-term support at 3870, with the next important support levels coming in at 3840, 3750, 3694, 3635, 3588, and 3550. A break below the 3694 level would signal a loss of short-term upside momentum, however as long as 3550 holds we want to buy dips.... see chart below.
