6PM Call: Banking Stocks Dominate - Update on lighting technology trends
Although VNM and VIC declined deeply, the VNIndex (932.66 points, +1.56%) continued to jump, supported by banking stocks. All seven banking tickers ended in the positive territory, with BID and CTG reaching their ceiling and contributing nearly 3 points to the index. Beer stocks were also in the spotlight as BHN increased to the ceiling price while SAB (+5%) also saw its second strongest-gain session. As for SAB, we think the company’s movement on accelerating the divestment process (including holding roadshows related to the divestment in Singapore and Britain) could be the driver for the stock’s recent outperformance.
