6PM Call: No Clear Leading Sectors and Stocks
VNIndex continued to gain 2.53 pts to close at 968.46 pts. The HNXIndex also closed higher 1.52 pts. Market breadth on both bourses were not very positive. Under the market cap view, large cap stocks tried to balance the VNIndex while small-cap stocks gained the most.
Banking shares such as VCB, BID, STB, CTG, MBB and VPB increased slightly enough to join with VNM and GAS to keep the market from falling further under the pressure of SAB, VIC and VRE. After a sharp drop since Dec 4th, many banking shares are trading quite stable. RongViet Research rates positive for this sector to invest in 2018. Investors can accumulate more banking shares. Oil & Gas sector still kept its momentum as we have mentioned in yesterday’s daily news. Most of shares in Natural Rubber sector increased. Rubber price on TOCOM reached 3-month high thanks to the three largest rubber exporters cut down the export until next 2018 March. This is definitely the supporting factor for these shares.
