After a surprising surge yesterday, banking stocks continued to support the VNIndex in the morning session. Instead of accumulating more stocks, investors took this as an opportunity to sell more shares. The VNIndex was volatile and finally closed in the red, with banking stocks beginning a new decline. On the other hand, SAB increased by VND7,300/share and contributed 2 pts. to the VNIndex. Thanks to the rebalance from SAB (and some other stocks), the index only lost 1.43 pts. The HNXIndex also closed with a decline of 0.64 pts. Banking and financial shares such as ACB, VNR, PVI, and BVS all gained today, while other oil & gas companies, such as PLC and PVS, mainly declined.
