6PM Call: VNIndex Struggles in All-time High Zone - Updated on HPG
The market opened with a widely exciting sentiment, and quickly approached the all-time high of 1,170. Many industries saw strong inflows, of which banking (VCB, CTG, BID) and oil & gas (GAS, PVD, PVT) stocks were in the spotlight. As for oil and gas sector, oil prices shooting up, fueled by Middle East tensions and contracting crude output in Venezuela, have been supportive news. At the end of the morning session, the VNindex was off from its highest level of 1,172, settling at 1,168 points.
