Construction and material is the sixth biggest industry in terms of market cap, worth VND 146,210 bn. Companies in this sector work in two subindustries, which are (i) heavy construction and (ii) building materials and fixtures. As of November, this was also the sector with the most listed companies (i.e. 170 companies) who have released their 9M2018’s results. Many people expected that this industry could prolong its success from 2017. However, the most recently released financial numbers have not met expectations. The last quarter of the year is the high period when construction firms book their revenues.
