The Navigator - Sector Rotation forecasts Energy and Utilities Turnaround

In This Edition:

In this month’s edition of the Elliott Wave Navigator, we continue to examine the differing performances in U.S. sectors, particularly the recent focus on Technology (XLK) and Consumer Discretionary (XLY) with supplemental updates for the industry sub-sector of the DJ-Internet index. We also compile a performance list of all 10 sectors illustrating recent performance and what we expect ahead. We also take look at the much watched performance of the Value (SXX) vs. Growth (SGX) spread and its forecast for the coming months. This of course is in addition to a brief update of the markets’ overall trend, direction and amplitude.

Our currency analysis has recently been in held abeyance whilst we awaited a most critical test of support for the US$ dollar index and comparable resistance for the Euro/US$. That test arrived only a few days ago which confirmed the dollar’s 8-year cycle peak ended earlier this year, into last January’s high. We now update the major G4 currencies in this report with forecasts for the next several months. A more concise update of other currency pairs/crosses is being compiled and will appear in various updates during the next few weeks.

The outlook for long-term interest rates are not featured this month as there are no changes – short-term forecasts are updated in the EW-Navigator supplemental reports published Wednesday/Friday.
