WOOD Flash – Arcelik: in talks for acquisition of Hitachi’s overseas home-appliance unit

In an article published this weekend in the Nikkei Asia daily, Arcelik is reportedly buying a 60% stake in the overseas home-appliance arm of the Japanese conglomerate, Hitachi. The daily reported an acquisition price of USD 300m (TRY 2.4bn), setting the EV for the entire home appliance unit at USD 500m. The unit generates most of its revenues domestically (c.80%), with the majority of the overseas revenues generated in the China and Southeast Asia region.
