For the oil and gas sector, “sell in May and go away” looks like it may, perhaps, be relevant this year. Oil prices saw a big drop at the beginning of the month and remained close to USD 75/bbl throughout most of the month, before falling again at the end. Refining margins declined a little more, with both diesel and petrol cracks off marginally. Once again, fuel oil was a gainer, due to the lower availability of heavy crude oil.
