CHTR 1Q26 Quick Take: Weak broadband subscriber and ARPU results; EBITDA fine

Charter’s broadband losses were slightly worse than expected. Investors were probably expecting a beat after Comcast results yesterday, but we cautioned against that. Broadband ARPU growth was also weak. The silver lining was that EBITDA was in line. This said, in line isn’t great as consensus currently expects EBITDA to remain flat for the year compared to management’s goal of it growing y/y. On the call, we expect management will reiterate this point. We expect the stock to sell off a bit here today and give up some of the gains from the last few weeks.
