OMV exceeded consensus expectations in Q4 2023
OMV reported a clean CCS-based operating result of EUR 1,432 mn, marking a -
32% decrease YoY and a slight 7% increase QoQ. This result is also marginally
above the consensus estimate by 7%. The primary factors contributing to this
performance include challenges in the European petrochemical industry,
normalizing refinery margins, and a reduction in hydrocarbon prices from 2022
levels.
OMV has elected to distribute a dividend of EUR 5.05 per share, consistent with
the previous year's payout. The base dividend has been raised to EUR 2.95 from
EUR 2.80, with the remainder attributed to a special dividend. This surpassed the
market consensus of a EUR 4.14 dividend per share.
