bpost PPP and Proximy rumoured to win the press tender
Over the weekend, the Belgian newspaper de Tijd reported that according to a recommendation from the FOD Economy to the state, bpost's competitor PPP would win the tender for the press distribution while Proximy would win the tender for periodicals. In a follow up press release, bpost affirmed that is has not been informed of any decision by the Belgian government, which, in turn, stated that no decision has been made by the Council of Ministers. According to “De Tijd”, the file will be further discussed by the cabinet on Monday.Bpost is engaged in the provision of national and international mail and parcels services comprising the collection, transport, sorting and distribution of addressed and non-addressed mail, printed documents, newspapers and parcels. In addition, through its subsidiaries and business units, Co. sells a range of other products and services, including postal, parcels, banking and financial products, express delivery services, document management and related activities.
