Warehouses De Pauw Tony De Pauw has passed away

Yesterday, Tony De Pauw of the founding family passed away unexpectedly at home. In June 1999, at WDP's IPO, Tony took over the helm from his father Jos De Pauw, founder of WDP. Together with WDP management, he built WDP into a leading European family-rooted logistics platform. Tony stepped down from his role as co-CEO in 2024, a position he had shared with Joost Uwents since 2010. During this time, he remained active as a Board member. On 30/6, the family shareholding declined below 20.0% to 19.4%. In due course, the family will appoint a successor to the Board. Despite the great loss of a committed member of the founding family, we believe WDP is run by a strong management team and has a clear strategy for the future. We do not believe this makes WDP vulnerable for a take-over or more susceptible for merger talks with competitors. It is just sad news that has no impact on our positive view on WDP.
