Tighter Regulations on UnionPay Purchase for Mainland Visitors Should Have Manageable Impact on AIA
We maintain our HKD 52 per share fair value estimate for AIA following the introduction of stricter controls for mainland visitors purchasing insurance policies via UnionPay. As we state in our investment thesis, we believe the robust growth of mainland visitor sales in Hong Kong market was partially driven by rush orders since the regulations started to tighten in early 2016.
