Autoliv Posts Record First-Quarter Revenue; Maintaining $97 Fair Value Estimate

Narrow moat-rated Autoliv, a leading supplier of safety components as well as advanced driver assist systems to the global automotive industry, reported earnings per share before special items, or EPS, of $1.65, handily beating the consensus EPS estimate of $1.56 by $0.09 but $0.01 shy of the year-ago EPS result of $1.66. The strong EPS result last year was driven primarily by one-time airbag inflator business to assist automakers’ efforts to recall defective Takata (a competitor) inflators.
