Cisco delivered a very inspiring and convincing speech about the power of simplicity at its annual analyst day. We note that simplicity and automation are the key words that have been used to describe benefits of software defined networks, or SDN. Cisco executives did not specifically mention SDN, but the overall idea behind Cisco’s announcement is essentially the same: network management remains a cumbersome and tedious process that hasn’t changed much over the past few decades.
