Markets Slightly Disappointed by Core Lab's Lagging Second-Quarter Results; Our FVE Is Unchanged
Core Lab shares fell about 5% after the company reported somewhat disappointing second-quarter results. While the company experienced a strong uplift in margins, revenue only increased about 4% sequentially. In particular, the company’s production enhancement segment revenue increased only 11% sequentially, despite the fact that the segment’s key end market, U.S. shale, was growing much faster, as exhibited in peers’ second-quarter results.
