Eldorado CEO Wright Retires, Assumes Chairman Role; Goldcorp COO Burns Picked as CEO
Eldorado Gold announced Dec. 16 that longtime president and CEO Paul Wright will retire following its annual meeting in April 2017. Wright had led the company in these roles since 1999, guiding Eldorado from fledgling junior gold producer to the midtier gold producer it is today. Most impressively, he did this while largely maintaining the company’s low-cost profile and avoiding expensive acquisitions.
