Manulife is purportedly exploring a possible IPO or spin-off of its John Hancock Financial division. Manulife operates as John Hancock in the United States, and from an earnings standpoint, its suite of products consists primarily of life and long-term care insurance as well as wealth and asset management, and other wealth products, such as annuities.
