Oracle’s first quarter of fiscal 2017 looked similar to many of the firm’s most recent quarters, with software- and platform-as-a-service revenue continuing to serve as the key driver for the business. We think this bodes well for Oracle’s long-term success, though we still have concerns over the firm’s ability to offset likely declines in its database business in the long run.
