Tesla's 3Q Reflects the Company in Production Hell for the Model 3
We are not changing our Tesla fair value estimate after updating our model for third-quarter results. The adjusted loss per diluted share of $2.92 missed consensus loss of $2.30 while a 30% year-over-year rise in revenue to $2.98 billion was in line with consensus. We think the long-term story on what Tesla can achieve in electric cars, trucks, mobility, and energy generation and storage will ultimately determine the value of the company. We believe the stock trades on momentum for option value ...Tesla designs, develops, manufactures, sells and leases electric vehicles and energy generation and storage systems, and provides services related to its products. The company operates as two reportable segments: automotive, which includes the design, development, manufacturing, sales, and leasing of electric vehicles as well as sales of automotive regulatory credits; and energy generation and storage, which includes the design, manufacture, installation, sales, and leasing of solar energy generation and energy storage products, services related to such products, and sales of solar energy system incentives.
